LightVR is a 360 virtual desktop with virtual room simulator for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift CV1 + Touch.
- Note that LightVR requires Windows 8.1 or 10 for desktop capture and does not work with Windows 7.**
===Features===* Room simulator with freely placeable props, such as chairs, desks, lamps, pictures, etc. Community generated assets can be shared through the Steam Workshop.* 360 VR Desktop, supporting all monitor-based desktops and additional Chromium-based browsers for increased productivity or entertainment options. Each screen has customizable curvature, size, position, orientation, and stereoscopic overlay for top-bottom or side-by-side stereo content. * Our Blended Reality system augments the HTC Vive to allow gesture activated camera pass-through for easier typing, finding things on your desk, or avoiding tripping on the cable. It also allows you to view yourself through your webcam to get better spatial awareness of your surroundings. * Watch 360 Videos and Live Streams in the 360 theater (by opening any 360 YouTube video on any Light browser screen).* Drag images or videos onto the LightVR UI window to open them in the scene (hardware-accelerated; requires the 64-bit VLC player to be installed on the system for video).* DirectX game integration: LightVR displays games at up to 90 fps (adaptively synced) in the HMD, and optionally translates head orientation to game view for first person shooters using FPS mode. We developed LightVR from scratch in C++ with the goal of efficiency and flexibility, and as such LightVR has minuscule CPU utilization (this does scale with increased use of props and screens). In addition, LightVR extends DirectX allowing games to directly render onto the HMD without unnecessary overhead or tearing.
