Retinad is a virtual reality analytics and advertising company. It is one of the first analytics and advertising platform for VR. On May 20, 2015, Retinad announced that it has raised $500,000 in an early stage funding round. The company plans to create an entire platform that allows advertisers to bid on ads based on various metrics.

Currently the entire Retinad analytics and ad system can applied to your app through a Unity plugin.

Analytics

In addition to common analytics metrics such as number of active users, session length, types of HMDs and operating systems, Retinad has demonstrated a heat map of the user's gaze. The heat map tells the developer where the users are looking at in the VR app.

Advertising

Retinad wants to bring immersive advertising to VR. It has demonstrated 360 Photo and 360 Video pre-roll ads. These ads feature gaze-based action points that allow the user to interact with the ad in various ways such as Skip, More Info, Like and Download. The app can play the ads during period of inactivity such as while the game is loading.
