Device
StarVR, formerly known as InfinitEye, is a virtual reality HMD with a horizontal FOV of 210 degrees. Developed by Starbreeze with the former InfinitEye team, StarVR's 5120 x 1440 display is the largest in VR HMDs. On software side, StarVR will utilize the OpenVR platform developed by Steam and the game engine Valhalla.

StarVR was unveiled during E3 2015.

Hardware

While most HMDs have FOVs of about 100° x 100°, StarVR has an FOV of 210° x 130°. The 210° horizontal FOV covers the entire vision, including all of the peripheral vision, of a human. Utilizing the large FOV and Fresnel lenses, unprecedented immersion can be achieved. The HMD features 6DOF tracking with IMUs for rotational tracking and external optical camera for positional tracking. It will use fiducial marks to track not only the HMD but also other devices such as controllers.
