Augmented Reality or AR is the fusion of real life and virtual world. In AR, real life objects are enhanced or blended with virtual objects. Users can not only overlay digital imageries on top of physical ones but also interact with virtual content with their devices. Augmented Reality devices are transparent glasses-like wearables. These devices have small projectors that create rendered images on top of objects in the physical world.

Unlike Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality does not replace the real world with a virtual one. AR simply enhances and modifies the real world.
