As a VR Platform, Oculus Rift produces not only hardware but also an SDK, App Store, software, accessories and most importantly a passionate community of developers and enthusiasts. Oculus Rift has released 2 development kits, DK1 in March 29, 2013 and DK2 in July, 2014. The first 2 versions, called Development Kits, are intended for creators and hardcore enthusiasts of VR content. The third version of Oculus Rift will be a consumer version scheduled for a 2015 release.
