Light field capture seizes all of the information about those rays of light striking . Using the information, you can generate an image that can be viewed from any direction. You can also generate a stereoscopic image, an image for each eye to create an 3D effect. For example, imagine an apple in the middle of a surface or volumeroom. With light field capture, you can view the apple from any angle, top to bottom and front to back. With regular photography you can only view the apple from one direction.  With these properties, light field capture has great possibilities in [[Virtual Reality]]. It can be used to create live action, [[VR]] environments in real time.
