A 3D stylus or 3D pen is a computer input device that tracks the movement in 3D with finer control than a typical controller.

Examples include traditional devices and consumer devices. Examples of consumer devices include the massless pen and the Logitech VR Ink.

Traditional devices are used in medicine. An example of a medical research application is in the VBLaST virtual surgery simulator.[1]
