A stereoscope is a device that allows the user to see a depth-enabled image by means of stereopsis due to binocular disparity. It does not reproduce all depth cues. The first stereoscopes were made in the 1800s.

Stereoscopic VR headsets like the Oculus Rift are an evolution of stereoscopes.
