Strobing

Strobing is the perception of multiple copies of an image at the same time in VR.[1] Strobing along with smearing is part of judder. These effects reduce the visual quality of a virtual reality display and cause simulator sickness. Strobing becomes more apparent when smearing is eliminated through the use of a low persistence display (smearing no longer hides strobing).

Strobing can be eliminated by increasing the refresh rate of the display.
