Description

In Star Wars Squadrons, you play a pilot on either the Galactic Empire or New Republic forces following the Galactic Civil War. Playing in first person, you take the helm of one of 5 types of starfighters to take down your enemy. Play a campaign alone or engage with other players in Dogfight or Fleet modes.

Dogfight is a to-the-death play mode whereas Fleet mode enables you to engage with your friends in a multi-stage, objective-based contest between two squadrons. You can also join and create Custom Matches for public or private play as well as modify your starfighters with a series of Components. Each squadron has 5 players, for a maximum of 10 total.[1]

Reviews

Upon release, Wes Fenlon at PC Gamer noted the incredible flight simulation but lackluster plot and lack of character development. He labeled Squadrons as "a game with memorable moments rather than memorable missions." While he had a good experience playing in VR, he mentioned single-player was better suited to VR as multiplayer mode can get more out of hand and nauseating. [2]
