According to developers, Job Simulator is a tongue-in-cheek virtual reality experience for motion controlled VR platforms. The game takes place in the year 2050, in a world where most employees were replaced by robots. To give citizens a chance to experience what it was like to actually work, a special simulator has been to replicate a variety of different jobs.[1]

Features

The game is being developed for PC and PlayStation 4 by Owlchemy Lab's. The company's CEO, Alex Schwartz, said that "Using the Move controllers instead of a regular controller is essential because the core of the game is all about having good hand interaction. You can't really do that with a controller."[2]

Players are guided by step-by-step instructions, but they can choose to ignore them at any time and do absolutely whatever they want in the limited enviroment. That way, it's possible to experience what it would be like to complete trash one's cubicle or to be the most careless convenience store clerk in the world.

As of now, 4 jobs have been introduced: gourmet chef, office worker, automotive mechanic, and convenience store clerk. Each job comes with its own, detailed enviroment filled with many interactive objects and ways how to spend a quality fun time in the game.

Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives is on its way to the Oculus Rift with support for the Oculus Touch motion controller when it launches in the second half of 2016. It’s also planned to be a launch title for PlayStation VR, which should arrive in the first half of the year.[3]

System Requirements

System requirements are yet to be announced.

Setup Instructions

The PlayStation 4 version will be distributed through Sony's content delivery platform, while the PC version should be available on Stream. Both version are not expected to require any complicated setup.
