Meta Platforms is a technology company based in Menlo Park, California. It was founded as a social networking service by Mark Zuckerberg, known as Facebook. It renamed to Meta Platforms in 2021.

It has owned Oculus VR, the maker of Oculus Rift devices, since March 25, 2014, after it purchased Oculus for 2 billion dollars.
